Jade plant

Jade plants are easy to grow, they are very adaptable and can live for a long time.

Crassula ovata.

Habit
A busy habit with fleshy stems and leaves, they can be trimmed and shaped making them a good indoor bonsai plant.
Slow growing, they can become a family friend.
They have thick fleshy stems and leaves, that store water, they will grow taller and wider but only slowly.
During the winter the short days should make it flower

Temperature
They are very adaptable, happy at room temperature but will also survive lower temperatures if kept dry.
Watering
The most common reason for failure, watering is important they need to be kept on the dry side. If the roots are wet or standing in the water they will quickly die. However, drying them out like cactus can also damage them, get in the habit of picking it up before and after watering you will quickly learn how heavy it is and use this to decide when to water.
I would also add some perlite to the compost to improve the drainage.
Positon
Only happy in the sun, they might stand light shade but the plant will lean towards the light. A south-facing windowsill that would burn most houseplants is okay for the jade plant.

Very tough, happy in full sun and fun to grow.

Very few bad habits, not happy in the shade.
